ESPN's FPI updates Florida State's chances to win ACC, reach CFP and more
Florida State enters Week 9 as the heavy favorite to win the ACC in 2023.
The Seminoles are coming off of an impressive 38-20 win over then-No. 16 Duke on Saturday night. FSU is now the only remaining ACC team with an undefeated record both overall and in conference play.
According to ESPN’s FPI, the Noles are the overwhelming favorite to win the ACC this season. The model gives Mike Norvell’s squad a 75.7% chance to win the ACC. The next closest team is North Carolina with a 10.2% chance.
Given that projection, it’s not a surprise that Florida State is also one of the top favorites to reach the College Football Playoff this season. The Seminoles have a 59.2% chance to reach a semifinal, according to the projection. That’s third in the country behind only Ohio State and Oklahoma entering Week 9.
Florida State has a 12% chance to win the National Championship, per the model.
Overall, FPI is projecting FSU to finish with a record of 12.2-0.8 this season. That projection includes a potential trip to the ACC Championship Game in December.
Florida State will face Wake Forest on the road in Week 9.
