Florida State’s 4-0 start has the Noles firmly in the mix to win the ACC Championship this season.

According to ESPN’s SP+ metric, Florida State has a 12% chance to win the conference this season. The Noles trail only Clemson, Pitt and NC State in that regard.

That 12% chance may not seem like much, but the Noles were hardly on the radar as ACC contenders to begin the season. At the beginning of the year, ESPN’s Football Power Index gave FSU just a 5.1% chance of winning the Atlantic — let alone the ACC.

Florida State is 4-0 for the first times since 2015. That was also the last time the Noles won 10+ games in the regular season.

FSU’s schedule will get tougher in the next few weeks. The Noles host Wake Forest next weekend before traveling to face NC State on Oct. 8. They will then host Clemson on Oct. 15, ending a 3-week stretch of games vs. fellow Atlantic division contenders.

Florida State and Wake Forest kickoff next week at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
