Florida lawmakers are reportedly in the process of discussing legal options in response to Florida State being left out of the top 4 in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
That’s according to a report from Front Office Sports’ Amanda Christovich
, who cites a source close to Florida lawmakers.
The report also cites a social media post from former FSU player and current Florida state senator Corey Simon, who went as far as to call out the CFP selection committee “corrupt.”
The report does not give specifics on what action could be taken by Florida lawmakers in this instance.
Florida State was on the wrong end of an unprecedented decision on Sunday. The Noles became the first-ever Power-5 undefeated team to be left out of the College Football Playoff.
FSU has already accepted its bid to the Orange Bowl, where it will face Georgia on Dec. 30. If FSU wins that game, it would become the first Power-5 team to finish the season with a 14-0 record during the Playoff era.
