Florida State offensive lineman commit Lucas Simmons is staying put.

Simmons told Noles247 on Saturday that he’s “locked in” with FSU after its 45-38 win over the Gators on Friday night. Florida had been pursuing Simmons in recent weeks.

“Nah, I’m a Nole,” Simmons said to Noles247. “I’m locked in, man.”

Simmons is a major recruit in Florida State’s 2023 class. He’s the second highest-ranked offensive player currently committed to Florida State in this cycle.

He’s the No. 111 overall player and the No. 12 offensive tackle in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Florida State’s win over Florida puts the Noles at 9-3 on the season. This is already FSU’s best season record-wise since 2016. The Seminoles will have a chance to get to 10 wins during their bowl game.

Florida State’s 2023 recruiting class currently has 16 members. The group ranks No. 17 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. However, there’s still enough time in this cycle for FSU to climb up the rankings.

The Early Signing Period begins in December.
