Florida State will host Kent State in a nonconference matchup during the 2025 season, according to a report.

That news was first shared by FBSchedules.com on Friday morning. The outlet cites a game contract obtained through a open record request.

According to the report, the game will be played in Tallahassee on Sept. 20, 2025. Florida State will pay a fee of $1.2 million to the Golden Flashes in exchange for the game, per the report.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Florida State and Kent State in football.

Florida State also has games scheduled against Alabama and Florida in nonconference play for the 2025 season. The Seminoles are expected to add another nonconference opponent for the 2025 campaign before all is said and done.

In conference play in 2025, Florida State will face off against Miami, Pitt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in Tallahassee. FSU will also have road games against Clemson, NC State, Stanford and Virginia.
