Florida State picked up a verbal commitment from class of 2022 center Alaaeddine Boutayeb on Sunday night.

Boutayeb announced the decision on Twitter:

As he alluded to in his announcement, Boutayeb has not been ranked by the major recruiting services. However, he’s listed at 7-foot-2 so he has the tremendous length that Leonard Hamilton typically looks for in recruits.

Boutayeb is originally from Morocco. However, according to 247Sports, he recently relocated to New York City.

Florida State now has six commitments in the class of 2022. Three of them are currently unranked, but the class also has commitments from 4-star prospects Cameron Corhen and Chandler Jackson. The Seminoles have the No. 19 class nationally and the No. 5 class in the ACC, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

FSU begins its 2021-22 season on Wednesday against Penn. The Seminoles are projected to be one of the top teams in the ACC again this season. KenPom’s preseason projections have them at No. 24 nationally and No. 2 in the ACC.
