Florida State defensive back Jarvis Brownlee is leaving the Seminoles’ program, he announced on Thursday morning.

Per multiple reports, Brownlee is already in the transfer portal. Here’s his announcement:

Brownlee was at times a starter for Florida State last season. He made 51 total tackles and picked off 2 passes across 11 games in 2021. For his career, he has 4 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions and 4 pass deflections.

However, he’s perhaps best known for being partially responsible for giving up a Hail Mary to Jacksonville State last season.

Brownlee was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2019. He was the No. 54 cornerback in the country for that cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The good news for the Seminoles is they have plenty of depth at defensive back. True freshmen Sam McCall and Azareye’h Thomas have played well this spring, and Florida State also returns contributors Omarion Cooper and Kevin Knowles II.

Florida State’s spring game is on April 9.
