Florida State defensive back Hunter Washington has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

On3’s Matt Zenitz was first to report the news on Thursday afternoon.

Washington was one of Florida State’s top commitments in the class of 2021. However, he saw little playing time as a true freshman and FSU signed multiple highly-touted defensive backs in the class of 2022.

Washington was the No. 19 cornerback in the country in the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

He was honored as FSU’s special teams scout player of the year, per his Florida State bio. He played vs. UMass last season and redshirted.

Washington will have four years of eligibility remaining at his new program. It’s currently unclear where he may end up. Washington is originally from Katy, Texas.

Florida State has already lost defensive back Jarvis Brownlee to the portal this spring, too. However, the Seminoles still have depth at that position. Players like Greedy Vance, Omarion Cooper, Jarrian Jones and Kevin Knowles II will be in contention for starting reps at cornerback.

Florida State opens the 2022 season with Duquesne on Aug. 27.
