Florida State picked up a commitment from JUCO defensive lineman Jaden Jones on Saturday morning.

Jones is mostly off the radar after redshirting last season at Hutchinson Community College. However, his strong potential — and impressive 6-foot-6 frame — earned him a spot in the Seminoles’ 2023 recruiting class.

Here’s his announcement:

Jones took the JUCO route coming out of high school, but it wasn’t for lack of talent or perceived upside. According to 247Sports, he received an offer from Mississippi State in the summer of 2020.

More recently, Jones picked up offers from programs like Missouri, Houston, UTSA and UAB, amongst others.

Jones will be in Florida State’s 2023 class and will presumably be a big factor for Hutchinson Community College this season. At that point, FSU will have an even better idea of the type of player it is recruiting in Jones.

Florida State is up to 7 commitments in the 2023 cycle. The class ranks No. 26 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
