Florida State softball was selected as the No. 2 overall seed in the country on Sunday night and will be a big favorite to make it back to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series.

The Seminoles finished off the ACC Championship over the weekend, securing a comeback victory over Clemson. That triumph was enough to clinch the No. 2 seed and a regional in Tallahassee next weekend.

FSU will face off against Howard, Mississippi State and South Florida in its regional. Its first matchup will be against Howard on Friday.

If the Seminoles beat Howard, they will face the winner of Mississippi State and USF on Saturday. The double-elimination regional will conclude on Sunday.

If Florida State advances to the Super Regional round, it will host the winner of the Missouri Regional later this month. FSU is looking to get back to the Women’s College World Series after falling to Oklahoma in the championship series last season.

This is Florida State’s 22nd consecutive appearance in the regional round.

First pitch against Howard on Friday is at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
