Florida State made a huge addition to its 2023 recruiting class on Thursday evening.

The Seminoles picked up a commitment from 4-star safety Conrad Hussey. He was previously committed to Penn State and was also considering Miami.

However, it’s the Noles who eventually won out in his recruitment. Here’s Hussey’s announcement:

Hussey is a Fort Lauderdale native. He attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School, which has a long history of producing players for Florida State and other top programs in the region.

He’s the No. 238 overall player and the No. 19 safety in the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 47 player from the state of Florida.

Florida State has put more of a focus on the transfer portal in this cycle, but this commitment will boost the Noles up the high school rankings for 2023 as well. FSU now has 17 commitments in the class of 2023. Eight of those players are ranked in the top 400.

FSU’s class now ranks No. 19 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Of the other teams in the top 25, only No. 25 Michigan State (15) has fewer than 17 commitments.
