Expectations are starting to rise for Florida State.

The Seminoles, 4-0 for the first time since 2015, are on track to earn an Orange Bowl bid according to one ESPN expert. Kyle Bonagura picked FSU to reach the Orange Bowl in ESPN’s latest projections.

The prediction calls for Florida State to face Minnesota in that game. It would require Florida State to be the ACC champion or the top ACC team that’s not included in the College Football Playoff. Bonagura is predicting Clemson will reach the CFP semifinals.

Florida State has not played in a bowl game since 2019. It hasn’t reached the Orange Bowl since 2016, which was also the last time the Noles won 10+ games in a single season.

The Seminoles have won back-to-back appearances in the Orange Bowl. It defeated Michigan 33-32 in 2016 and Northern Illinois at the end of the 2012 campaign.

Florida State still has plenty of work to do before getting back to a New Year’s 6 bowl becomes a reality. FSU starts a streak of 3 tough games this weekend vs. Wake Forest. The Noles will then face NC State and Clemson in the first half of October.

FSU and Wake Forest will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
