Florida State holds off late comeback from Miami, takes first place in ACC standings
Florida State led by as many as 26 points in this game, but needed to hold off a late comeback attempt from the Hurricanes in the game’s final minutes.
FSU was up by one point with 8.1 seconds remaining. Miami got a shot off at the buzzer to potentially win the game, but it was off the mark.
The Seminoles are now 6-2 in ACC play and are tied with Miami atop the ACC standings. However, they’ve now swept the season series against their in-state rival — and have won nine straight meetings overall.

Florida State is the only team to beat Miami in conference play so far this season.
Caleb Mills was the hero for the Seminoles down the stretch. He provided just enough offense to get FSU to the finish line. He scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting in the game.
Florida State is now in excellent position to earn an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.
FSU faces Georgia Tech on Wednesday.
