Florida State made the cut in NBC’s latest College Football Playoff projection midway through Week 9.

The Seminoles come in at No. 3 in the projection this week, which comes from NBC’s College Countdown crew. They’re behind only Ohio State and Michigan this week while Washington rounds out the top 4. Georgia and Oregon are on the outside-looking-in at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.

Here’s a look:

The initial rankings from the College Football Playoff selection committee will be revealed on Tuesday night. Florida State will carry an 8-0 record into that rankings reveal, making it one of the only undefeated teams remaining in the Power 5.

FSU coach Mike Norvell addressed the looming rankings reveal in his postgame press conference on Saturday in Winston-Salem.

“What are we putting our focus on? A number? That number isn’t going to define us,” Norvell said. “What’s going to define us is who shows up and how we play next Saturday.”

Florida State will play at Pitt on Saturday night.
