Florida State brought in a number of impactful transfer additions this season, but receiver Johnny Wilson has stood out the most.

Wilson made ESPN’s list of top 50 transfers for 2022, which was released on Thursday. He’s ranked No. 42 nationally thanks to his terrific start to the season.

Here’s some reasoning from ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren:

Wilson, a big target at 6-7, 235 pounds, leads the Seminoles with 492 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He is averaging 18.2 yards per catch and 70.3 receiving yards per game.

Wilson has quickly become Jordan Travis’ No. 1 option at receiver. His best game of the year came against Louisville back in September, when he caught a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to help lead the Noles to a comeback win.

Wilson has already set career-highs across the board after transferring from Arizona State before the season started. No other Florida State receiver has more than 300 yards so far this season. Wilson will likely eclipse 500 receiving yards this week against Georgia Tech.

Other Florida State transfers such as Jared Verse, Mycah Pittman and Trey Benson did not make the top 50.

Florida State and Georgia Tech kickoff at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
