Florida State earned a major commitment in the transfer portal on Monday afternoon.

The Noles picked up a pledge from South Carolina transfer tight end Jaheim Bell.

Here’s his announcement:

Bell was one of the most sought-after transfer tight ends in the entire country. He’s coming off a huge season for South Carolina where he stood out as a pass catcher but also in the Gamecocks’ running game.

Bell caught 25 passes for 231 yards. He also rushed the ball 73 times for 261 yards and three touchdowns. He was one of the most versatile playmakers in the entire country this season.

Florida State’s offense in 2023 could include more of a focus on tight ends. This season, the Seminoles’ top tight end was fifth-year senior Camren McDonald. He caught 21 passes for 312 yards, but he has exhausted his collegiate eligibility.

Bell is FSU’s second transfer portal pickup so far this cycle. He joins former Miami defensive lineman Darrell Jackson. Florida State is expected to target several more transfers in the coming weeks and months.

FSU faces Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl later this month.
