Florida State just got a lot better.

The Seminoles landed a commitment from Charlotte offensive line transfer D’Mitri Emmanuel. He was visiting Tallahassee on Monday when he decided to commit to Mike Norvell and his staff.

Here’s his announcement:

Emmanuel was a 3-year starter at Charlotte before entering the transfer portal. He has 1 season of eligibility remaining.

He overlapped with Florida State offensive coordinator Alex Atkins during his time at Charlotte. The 2019 season was Emmanuel’s first year as a starter and Atkins’ only year with Charlotte before moving to Florida State.

Emmanuel should slot in as a starter on Florida State’s offensive line. His experience and consistency as one of the best linemen in Conference USA should allow him to make an impact in 2022.

His versatility should allow Florida State to move him around the front as well.

Florida State beat out Miami and Boston College for his commitment.
