Florida State lands in top 10 of ESPN’s future QB power rankings

Florida State’s future at the quarterback position looks promising.

On Wednesday, ESPN released its future power rankings for the quarterback position. The list intends to rank each team’s projected QB situation for the next 3 s

easons.

This season, Florida State ranked No. 9 on ESPN’s list. Last year, the Noles were not ranked in the top 25.

Jordan Travis’ emergence in 2022 as one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC — as well as his planned return for 2023 — has a big impact on the Noles’ ranking.

Florida State also has former highly-touted prospects Tate Rodemaker, AJ Duffy and B

rock Glenn in its QB room as well. Looking ahead to the class of 2024, FSU already has a commitment from 4-star Luke Kromenhoek.

Here’s ESPN’s stated criteria for these power rankings:

Assessments are based on current rosters and committed recruits, while taking into account the likelihood of transfers, both in and out of programs. Programs that have continuity and success with coaching quarterbacks also received special consideration.

Travis is expected to be Florida State’s No. 1 option for the 2023 season. However, there could be an open competition for 2024 and beyond.

FSU’s annual spring game will be played on Saturday, April 15.
