Florida State has emerged as a potential suitor for ex-Oregon State and Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, according to a report.

Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, FSU and Louisville are both contenders to land Uiagelelei out of the portal.

“Two schools that have emerged as his top suitors are Florida State and Louisville,” Thamel said on ESPN on Tuesday. “He has no visits set. Mississippi State has also shown some interest. But DJU could be making a cross-country trip back to the Atlantic.”

After spending 3 seasons at Clemson with up-and-down results, Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State for the 2023 campaign. He had a strong season with the Beavers and had them ranked in the top 25 for the entire regular season.

Florida State does not have an heir-apparent for Jordan Travis, who is out of collegiate eligibility. Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn are both on the roster, but neither have the experience or proven production that FSU could attract from a top quarterback in the transfer portal.

Uiagalelei has 1 season of eligibility remaining.
