Florida State looks like Seminoles of old, Dave Clawson says ahead of Week 9 clash
Florida State is well respected by Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson.
The Seminoles and Demon Deacons will be playing each other in Week 9. Clawson called the team the “Florida State of old” at Tuesday’s presser, referencing how dominant the program used to be in the 90s.
There are a lot of things that Florida State does well. Clawson noted how the team is explosive on offense and has playmakers on defense.
“This is an outstanding football team we’re playing this week,” said Clawson. “This looks like the Florida State of old. They’re explosive on offense and have dynamic playmakers on defense.”

Florida State is hoping to snap a three-game losing streak to Wake Forest come Saturday. Sam Hartman and the Demon Deacons handed Florida State a 31-21 loss in Tallahassee last season.
Wake Forest is coming off of its first conference win of the season after beating Pitt 21-17.
There’s no telling who will suit up for the Demon Deacons at quarterback.
Mitch Griffis sat out the Pitt game with an undisclosed injury or illness. Backup Michael Kern didn’t play either as third-string QB Santino Marucci took the reigns.
The Seminoles will move to 8-0 on the year with a win. Kickoff from Winston-Salem will be at noon ET on ABC.
