Florida State receiver Keyshawn Helton is entering the transfer portal.

Helton made that announcement on Tuesday afternoon. This ends Helton’s five-year run in Tallahassee.

Here’s his announcement:

Helton was originally recruited to Florida State by Willie Taggart and has stuck with the Noles through the ups and downs of the last several seasons.

He did not catch a pass this season, but he remained a leader on FSU’s offense. Coach Mike Norvell thanked him for his contributions on Tuesday afternoon:

Nole nation, thank you for the unwavering support over the years,” Helton wrote in-part. “I was taught always to leave a place better than you found it and I believe coach Norvell have something really special going on here. No amount of words can explain how appreciative I am. Forever indebted to FSU and this program!”

In his career at Florida State, he caught 60 passes for 812 yards and 8 touchdown passes.

Florida State is expected to be active in the transfer portal again this season. The Noles picked up several key players from the portal last year, including receiver Johnny Wilson, running back Trey Benson and defensive lineman Jared Verse.
