Florida State makes final list for 4-star DL in class of 2023
Florida State is continuing to hit the recruiting trail hard this offseason.
The Seminoles made it into the top 5 for 4-star defensive lineman John Walker. He announced his list on Friday afternoon, which also includes Alabama, Florida State, Central Florida and Penn State.

Walker is the No. 99 overall player and the No. 17 defensive lineman in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 20 player from the state of Florida.
Notably, Walker did not include Miami or Florida in his list of five schools. He took an unofficial visit to Gainesville back in September, according to 247Sports.
Walker would be a huge addition to Florida State’s 2023 class, if it can land him. The Seminoles need to continue adding defensive line talent of his caliber.
It’s still early in the cycle, but Florida State’s class currently ranks No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in the ACC, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles have four commitments already, but just one — 4-star Lamonte Green Jr. — is from a pass rusher.
There is no timetable for a decision.
