As Florida State aims to snap a 3-game losing streak, it’s hoping for some good fortune by paying homage to the past.

Florida State is wearing white helmets for its home contest against Georgia Tech.

Florida State  Director of Broadcasting Jeff Culhane points out that this is the first occasion of white helmets at Doak Campbell Stadium since the Tom Nugent era in the 1950s.

Florida State has a 4-3 record and is 5th in the ACC Atlantic. Those three straight losses came against three ranked opponents: No. 22 Wake Forest, No. 14 NC State, and No. 4 Clemson.

It was Florida State’s seventh loss in a row to Clemson. Florida State had a bye last week.

Georgia Tech has a 3-4 overall record and is 2nd in the ACC Coastal. Georgia Tech is coming off a 16-9 defeat against Virginia. Georgia Tech has yet to score over 21 points against a Power 5 opponent this season.

Florida State leads the all-time series 14-11-1. Georgia Tech has taken the last two contests in the series. The last time Florida State defeated Georgia Tech was a 37-35 victory in the 2014 ACC Championship Game.
