Florida State moves into top 15 of CBS Sports power rankings
Florida State continues to move up in CBS Sports’ weekly power rankings.
The Noles are up to No. 14 in this week’s edition of the CBS Sports 131. They moved up three spots following their 45-38 win over Florida last weekend.
That victory pushed Florida State to 9-3 on the season. They’re the fourth highest-ranked three-loss team in CBS’ rankings this week. They trail Kansas State, Utah and LSU — all teams who will be playing for a conference championship this weekend.
FSU ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak. The Seminoles also finished the year with a 5-3 record in ACC play, good enough for second place in the conference.
This was Mike Norvell’s most successful season in Tallahassee to date. It’s also the first time FSU has won more than seven games in a single campaign since 2016.
Florida State has several intriguing options available for bowl season. The Seminoles are likely to be headed to the Holiday Bowl or the Cheez-It Bowl next month, but could be in the mix for the Cotton Bowl as well.
Florida State will learn its bowl destination on Sunday.
