Florida State jumped up multiple spots to No. 11 in the final AP Poll of the 2022 season.

Following the College Football Playoff National Championship, Florida State moved up 2 spots from the previous AP Poll. Florida State ended the season with a 10-3 record, which was the program’s 1st 10-win season since 2016. In the poll, the Seminoles finished between No. 10 Utah and No. 12 USC.

Utah and USC lost their New Year’s Six bowl games, while Florida State earned a hard-fought bowl game win. Florida State attained its 10th win of the season with a 35-32 victory over Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29. The bowl win closed out a 6-game winning streak in the final 2 months of the season.

The winning streak came after Florida State endured a 3-game skid against Wake Forest, NC State, and Clemson in October. During that losing streak, Florida State’s success in the early part of the season seemingly evaporated.

Fortunately, Florida State was able to turn the season around in the last month of the regular season. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell earned his 1st winning season at the school and his record at Florida State advanced to 18-16 over the last 3 seasons.

Florida State will look to have another double-digit win season in 2023.
