Florida State moves up multiple spots in FPI rankings during its off week
Florida State was off this week, but the Noles still moved up in ESPN’s Football Power Index rankings.
FSU moved up five spots and is now at No. 20 in the country entering Week 9. Florida State has maintained a high standing in FPI despite losing three consecutive games.
The Noles are the fourth-highest ranked ACC team, per FPI. Only Clemson, Syracuse and Wake Forest rank higher. North Carolina, seemingly a shoe-in to win the Coastal, is at No. 40 nationally.
Even at 4-3, FPI is very bullish on the Noles’ chances to make a bowl game this season. FPI says Florida State has 97.8% chance to reach six regular season wins.
Florida State is looking for its first 8+ win season since 2016. If the Noles win out and get a victory in their bowl game, a 10-win campaign is also still on the table.
Overall, FPI is projecting Florida State to reach 7.4 wins this season. That does not include a potential bowl appearance.
Florida State hosts Georgia Tech this weekend.
