Florida State made an interesting addition to its official roster on Thursday afternoon.

The Seminoles have officially added running back transfer Caziah Holmes, who is transferring from Penn State. News of his arrival first broke earlier this week.

Holmes was a 4-star recruit in the class of 2020. He visited Tallahassee twice before ultimately committing to Penn State. He was the No. No. 5 all-purpose running back in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Holmes joins a Florida State running back room that is already filled with talent. Three rushers — Treshaun Ward, Lawrance Toafili and Trey Benson — rushed for over 100 yards each last week vs. Duquesne. A fourth — true freshman Rodney Hill — scored a touchdown in the win.

In two season at Penn State, he rushed for 254 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Most of that production came during his true freshman season in 2020.

Holmes is originally from Titusville, Florida. He’s listed at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds.

Florida State will play its first big test of the season on Sunday night vs. LSU in New Orleans.
