Florida State officially announced the addition of Charlotte transfer offensive lineman D’Mitri Emmanuel on Wednesday afternoon.

Emmanuel was a 3-year starter at Charlotte before entering the transfer portal this offseason. In 2019, he started under Florida State offensive coordinator Alex Atkins.

Coach Mike Norvell released a statement on his addition:

“We are excited D’Mitri has joined the Nole Family,” Norvell said in a release. “He brings a tremendous amount of starting experience and proven leadership qualities to our program. D’Mitri has been an all-conference performer as part of successful teams, and his blocking has helped playmakers shine. He will help us continue to develop by adding more competition among our offensive line.”

Florida State has brought in several impact transfers this offseason, including receiver Mycah Pittman, running back Trey Benson and defensive end Jared Verse, to name a few.

Emmanuel has experience at left tackle, left guard and right tackle. His versatility will almost certainly be a major factor in him earning significant playing time this season.

Florida State opens the 2022 season with Duquesne on Aug. 27.
