UCLA responded with 2 runs of its own, but FSU added another in the sixth and an insurance run in the 9th.
The ninth inning run came on a homer by Alex Toral. Here’s a clip:

Starting pitcher Parker Messick went 5 innings and allowed just 4 hits and 2 earned runs. He also struck out 4. FSU’s bullpen backed him up with 4 innings of 1-run ball.
Florida State will now await the winner of Auburn and Southeast Louisiana. If the Seminoles win that game, they will advance to the regional final. This is a double-elimination tournament.
