LSU defensive lineman Ali Gaye has apologized for an illegal hit on FSU quarterback Jordan Travis.

Travis shared that news on Tuesday afternoon and says he wishes “nothing but the best” for Gaye moving forward.

Gaye was ejected for targeting on the hit as he launched toward Travis and made helmet-to-helmet contact. Gaye will miss the first half of LSU’s next game.

Travis actually threw a touchdown on the play, his second of the game to Ontaria Wilson. Wilson made a sensational one-handed grab in the corner of the end zone to haul it in.

Here’s the hit on Travis:

Florida State is now 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2016. The Seminoles are trying to reach bowl eligibility for the first time since 2019.

FSU is off in Week 2 but will face Louisville on the road in Week 3.
