Baxter has been committed to Texas since Aug. 10. He’s also received interest from programs like Texas A&M, Arkansas and Florida.
If the Noles could get him in the fold for 2023, it would be a massive deal for their recruiting class. He’s the No. 47 overall player and the No. 4 running back in the country for this cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Florida State does have one running back committed in this class already in 4-star Sam Singleton. However, it appears the Seminoles are interested in taking multiple backs in this class.
Florida State would be much closer to home for Baxter than Austin. He attends Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla.
FSU has 16 commitments so far. The group ranks No. 16 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
