Florida State softball beats No. 3 Alabama in key nonconference clash
No. 2 Florida State beat No. 3 Alabama 6-5 in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday afternoon.
The Seminoles trailed 4-1 for much of the day, but got back into the game thanks to a 3-run homer from Michaela Edenfield in the top of the sixth inning.

Edenfield already has 9 home runs this season as she continues to look like one of the best freshmen in the country.
Florida State tacked one two more runs in the seventh inning thanks to a pair of fielding mistakes by Alabama. That was enough cushion for Kathryn Sandercock, who slammed the door shut in the seventh inning.
Sanderock didn’t start this game, but pitched six innings of two-run ball in relief. She struck out five batters and didn’t issue any free passes win the win. She’s now 12-0 on the season.
This is a very impressive win for Florida State β perhaps as big a win as any team has in the country so far this season. The Seminoles could have a case to move above Oklahoma for the No. 1 spot in the rankings next week.
