Florida State softball moved up to No. 2 in the country in the latest polls, which were released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Seminoles have the No. 2 spot behind Oklahoma in both the USA Softball poll and the NFCA Coaches poll for Week 5.

Offensively, Florida State is led by Devyn Flaherty and Michaela Edenfield. Flaherty has a team-high .403 batting average (amongst qualified players) and 2 home runs. Edenfield is hitting a respectable .423 and leads the squad with 8 homers.

In the circle, Florida State has been led by Kathryn Sandercock and Danielle Watson. Sandercock is coming off a career-high 10 strikeout performance vs. Georgia Tech over the weekend. Watson has a 1.28 ERA through 11 starts this season.

Florida State moved ahead of Alabama, who dropped two games to LSU in Baton Rouge last week. The Crimson Tide are now 21-1 on the year while the Seminoles are 23-1.

Coincidentally, Florida State will travel to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide in a marquee nonconference game on Wednesday. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on the SEC Network.
