Hill initially committed to Florida State as a member of the 2021 recruiting class. However, Hill did not enroll with the rest of FSU’s 2021 recruiting class.
In a previous statement, Florida State addressed why Hill did not join the program in 2021:
“Destyn Hill’s enrollment is delayed due to a personal matter. With respect to his family’s privacy, we are looking forward to him joining our program in the future.”
Hill, who attended Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, was a prized wide receiver in the class of 2021. The 4-star recruit was the No. 19 wide receiver in the country and the No. 5 recruit in Louisiana, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
When he committed in February 2021, he chose Florida State over Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and LSU.
Florida State will take on Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m. ET.
