Florida State is looking for transfer receiver Mycah Pittman to have a big year, and it sounds like he’s hitting his stride after a week of fall camp in Tallahassee.
Coach Mike Norvell told reporters that Pittman scored 2 touchdowns during Thursday’s practice and is “trending up.”
“He showed up big,” Norvell said
. “He had some great catches. I think he’s a very talented young man … I think the last couple days have been trending upwards for him.
“Today, I thought he was all over the place, making plays. He had a couple touchdowns, red zone, all those things.”
Pittman arrived in Tallahassee this season after starting his career at Oregon. H
e was mostly a role player for the Ducks, catching 38 passes for 547 yards and 2 touchdowns across 3 seasons. He also averaged a solid 10.1 yards per punt return in 2021 with Oregon.
However, Pittman is expected to have a much bigger role with Florida State this season. He’s in position to potentially be Jordan Travis’ No. 1 target in the passing game this season.
