Florida State went 9-3 this season and is in line to play in a high-profile bowl game later this month.

ESPN and CBS Sports issued their bowl projections earlier this week. As Championship Saturday has continued to unfold, other outlets have updated their projections.

The Athletic is projecting Florida State will face off against Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29.

Florida State last appeared in the Cheez-It bowl when it was under a different name — the Champs Sports Bowl — back in 2011. The Noles defeated Notre Dame in that contest.

FSU has a deep history with this bowl game. It has competed three times in this bowl, which has had a variety of names since its inaugural game in 1990. FSU is 3-0 all-time in this bowl game, including a win over Penn State in 1990 when it was known as the Blockbuster Bowl.

Florida State also has a long history of playing against Oklahoma. They’ve played seven times total, with the Sooners winning the last six matchups. The history includes a home-and-home in 2010-11 and, of course, the 2001 BCS National Championship Game. FSU’s lone victory over Oklahoma came back in 1965.

FSU will learn its official bowl destination on Sunday afternoon.
