Jared Verse gives timeline for making decision on 2023 season
Jared Verse has an important decision to make in the coming days.
On Thursday, Verse and Florida State will face off against Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl. After that game, Verse will decide whether to enter the 2023 NFL Draft or return to FSU for one more season.
On Monday, Verse told reporters that he expects to make that decision “a week or two” after FSU’s bowl game vs. the Sooners.

Verse was excellent in his first season at Florida State. He was near the top of the ACC with 14.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks this season.
However, that production has landed him on the NFL’s radar. He’s a potential first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft if he decides to go pro.
If Verse opts to return to Florida State, he would be a candidate for preseason ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Verse was named a first-team All-ACC performer for his 2022 campaign.
Florida State will face Oklahoma on Thursday in Orlando. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. ET.
