Jared Verse reveals severity of eye injury sustained vs. Wake Forest
Jared Verse was poked in the eye during Florida State’s win over Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Verse went to the locker room to receive treatment, but eventually was able to come back into the game. He finished the contest with a pair of sacks in Florida State’s 41-16 win over the Demon Deacons.
After the game, Verse spoke with reporters and shared some details about the injury. Verse said the injury broke the skin and he received stitches before going back into the game.

Pretty gnarly cut under Jared Verse’s eye. He says a Wake Forest player attempted a stiff arm and wound up breaking the skin just below his eye.

Given that Verse was able to return, it’s unlikely this is something that will keep him out of any future contests. Still, it could be something Verse has to contend with as he moves through the next couple weeks.
Verse is now up to 4.5 sacks on the season as he continues to be one of the most-feared pass rushers in the ACC.
Florida State is 8-0 on the season and will face Pitt on the road next weekend.
