Florida State’s Johnny Wilson earned the ACC Wide Receiver of the Week award for his Week 3 performance against Louisville.

It was a close game and Wilson was a major factor in Florida State pulling out the road win. Florida State had to overcome early adversity with an injury to quarterback Jordan Travis in the first half.

He finished the game with 7 catches for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also scored the eventual game-winner.

Backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker came in to replace Travis and he relied on Wilson. When the game ended, Wilson finished with 7 catches, 149 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns. His longest catch was for 69 yards in the 4th quarter from Rodemaker.

With 7:54 left in the game, Wilson caught the go-ahead touchdown pass for the Seminoles. Florida State held on and Wilson’s performance was a major reason why that happened.

In 3 games, Wilson has recorded 260 receiving yards, 11 receptions, and 2 touchdowns. He had more receiving yards against Louisville than he had in the previous 2 games combined. Wilson is in his first season at Florida State.

Previously, Wilson played at Arizona State for 2 seasons before he transferred to Florida State in December 2021. He has transitioned nicely to his new team and will likely be the team’s top target moving forward.

Florida State plays Boston College on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
