Jordan Travis builds Heisman Trophy case with 4 TD game vs. Wake Forest
Jordan Travis is continuing to build momentum in his case for the 2023 Heisman Trophy.
Travis, who entered Saturday amongst the favorites to win the award, turned in one of the best performances of the season on Saturday. He finished with 359 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns vs. Wake Forest. He also added 29 yards and another score on the ground.
Travis exited the game late in the fourth quarter with the Seminoles up 41-16 over Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.

Other candidates for the Heisman at this point in the season includes Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Travis has led Florida State to an 8-0 start to begin the year.
Florida State has not had a Heisman Trophy winner since Jameis Winston won it in 2013. Winston led the Seminoles to the BCS National Championship that season as well.
Here’s some of the Heisman-related reaction to Travis’ big day in Winston-Salem:

Why should Jordan Travis win the Heisman? Plays like that one. Eludes rusher and instead of immediately pulling it down and running on 3rd and long, he stays patient, finds his tight end coming open and throws for a first down …

It’s time to start acknowledging Jordan Travis in the Heisman conversation. It may not be the flashiest, but JT has complete control of this undefeated FSU team. So smooth, so confident, such a leader.
