Jordan Travis’ injury was cited as a reason why Florida State missed out on the College Football Playoff last Sunday.

So, some Florida State fans (and non-Florida State fans, for that matter) noted that if Travis was as crucial to the Seminoles’ success as the committee seemed to suggest, he should be a serious contender for the Heisman trophy. But, similar to Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker last season, Travis was left out of the top 4 for the Heisman ceremony due to injury.

On Saturday morning the Heisman Trophy social media account revealed the Heisman balloting for No. 10 through No. 5.

Travis was ranked No. 5, just one spot away from a trip to New York for the ceremony.

The award ceremony for the Heisman Trophy will be held tonight, Dec. 9. The trophy will go to one of LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix, Washington’s Michael Penix and Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr.
