Kat Sandercock throws perfect game, sends Florida State to Super Regionals over USC
Kat Sandercock, take a bow.
No. 3 Florida State evaded disaster Sunday downing South Carolina 1-0 behind a perfect game performance from pitcher Kathryn Sandercock. Florida State’s super senior ace threw a complete 7 innings, allowing no hits or walks with 5 strikeouts.
It turns out Florida State needed some chaos to advance to the Super Regional round, too. The Seminoles went ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning off a bunt from Jahni Kerr.

Florida State fell to South Carolina in Game 1 of Sunday’s slate. The Gamecocks continued a hot pitching afternoon, downing FSU 4-0 to force a final game for a trip to the supers.
A trip to the Super Regional round is nothing new for the Seminoles. FSU advanced last in 2021 and had advanced to the 2nd weekend 7 consecutive times from 2013-2019 prior to that.
Talk about impressive.
