Key stats show Florida State’s Jared Verse is already an elite player in the ACC

Florida State defensive end Jared Verse is off to a hot start through the first two games of the 2022 college football season.

Through the first two games of the season, Verse is tied for first in the ACC in sacks (3), tackles for loss (4), and blocked kicks (1).

In the Week 1 24-23 win over LSU in New Orleans, Verse totaled 3 total tackles, 2 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a blocked field goal and 2 sacks.

In a Week 0 victory over Duquesne, Verse accounted for 4 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack.

Verse arrived at Florida State after transferring from Albany during the off-season. He was a 4-star transfer when he committed to Florida State, according to 247Sports. Verse is already proving his worth as an elite defender in the ACC.

Florida State goes on the road to face Louisville in Week 3.
