Kirk Herbstreit has updated his College Football Playoff top 4 projection after Week 9.

Florida State made the cut at No. 4 this week. The Noles trail Michigan, Georgia and Ohio State but remain ahead of Washington and Oregon entering Week 10.

Herbstreit also noted that Oklahoma’s loss to Kansas could be crucial for FSU’s chances of ultimately reaching the College Football Playoff. The Big 12 is now the only power conference that does not have an undefeated team at the top of the standings.

Florida State is 8-0 entering Week 10. The Seminoles and Louisville are the only ACC teams who appear in the AP Top 25 this week following losses from North Carolina and Duke.

FSU is hoping to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time since the 2014 season. That was also the last year that FSU won the ACC title.

Florida State will go on the road to face Pitt in Week 10.
