Mel Kiper Jr. is excited to evaluate Keon Coleman this weekend vs. Wake Forest cornerback Caelen Carson.

In a wide-ranging NFL Draft story for ESPN on Monday, Kiper identified the Coleman vs. Carson matchup as one of his two things to watch for in Week 9. Coleman enters this weekend as one of the top receivers who could be taken in the 2024 draft. Carson is a day two prospect, according to Kiper.

Here’s his analysis on the matchup:

To keep on the earlier theme of cornerbacks, I have two matchups to watch this week. The first is an evaluation game for Wake Forest’s Caelen Carson, my CB8. He’s going to be asked to slow down Florida State’s Keon Coleman, a potential top-15 pick who will have four inches on him. Carson is likely a Round 3 pick right now, but he could rise with a great performance.

Coleman has established himself as one of the top receivers in the country so far this season. He has 31 catches for 472 yards and 7 touchdowns on the year.

Florida State will be looking for a big performance out of him on Saturday vs. Carson and a solid Demon Deacons secondary.

Kickoff vs. Wake Forest is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
