Mike Norvell gives update on Winston Wright: ‘There’s not a limitation with him’

Mike Norvell told reporters on Thursday morning that receiver Winston Wright has been full-go throughout FSU’s ‘Tour of Duty’ winter workout program.

Wright missed all of last season after being involved in an offseason car accident. He was able to return to practice toward the end of last season, but never played in a game for the Noles.

On Thursday, Norvell gave an update on what the coaching staff has been seeing in Wright this winter.

“It’s great having Winston back out and working,” Norvell said

. “Just the things that he’s done, just that story in general.

“He’s got to the point where it’s like everyone else. He’s out there and he’s working and he’s pushing himself … There’s not a limitation with him. Now i

t’s just about getting better in all things.”

Wright was expected to play a big role on Florida State’s 2022 team before being sidelined with the injury. He was a standout playmaker for West Virginia prior to arriving in Tallahassee.

From 2020-21, Wright caught 110 passes for 1,241 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also scored 2 kick return touchdowns during his time with the Mountaineers.

If Wright is able to regain his explosiveness, he figures to be a major part of FSU’s offense in 2023.
