Mike Norvell reportedly adding former NFL assistant coach to FSU staff
Mike Norvell is reportedly adding a veteran NFL assistant to his Florida State staff. Anthony Midget is headed to Florida State, per Matt Zenitz of On3.
Midget will reportedly work in an off-field role at FSU. He had been an on-field coach in college and the NFL from 2008-to-2022.

Midget, 45, is from Clewiston, Florida. He earned All-Big East recognition at Virginia Tech and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2000 NFL Draft.
After his NFL career ended, Midget go into coaching. He returned to the Sunshine State as an assistant coach at Lake Worth High School from 2002-to-2006. In 2007, Midget returned to Virginia Tech, working as a graduate assistant at his alma mater.
Midget has experience in the college ranks coaching defensive backs at Georgia State (2008-11) and Penn State (2013). In 2012, he added the defensive coordinator title at GSU.
From 2014-to-2022, Midget worked in the NFL. He was an assistant secondary coach with the Houston Texans from 2014-to-2017. In 2018, he was promoted to Houston’s secondary coach.
The past 3 seasons, Midget served on staff with the Tennessee Titans as defensive backs coach. He was let go in early 2023.
