Mike Norvell and Florida State are excited for the 2024 game in Ireland against Georgia Tech on Aug. 24, and held a promotional announcement on Tuesday morning.

“We are going to paint the streets (of Dublin) garnet and gold the week before and probably the week after too … We are grateful and so looking forward to the opportunity that is ahead,” Norvell said.

The whole FSU community is looking forward to the trip, and FSU president Richard McCullough added that the Noles can’t wait to “put a whoopin’ up on Georgia Tech.”

Norvell said that, “It’s truly going to be a special experience,” and he talked to Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald, who played there last season, about the experience and he confirmed how incredible it was in all facets.

As for the schedule, Norvell confirmed that FSU’s follow-up game after Georgia Tech in Ireland in 2024 will be the following Monday on Labor Day, which gives the players a bit more time to rest and recover from the trip.

John Anthony, co-founder of Aer Lingus College Football Classic, said he’s never seen a crowd as big as this for a game announcement and that it’s a testament to what they have already heard in terms of excitement from the FSU fanbase.
