Mike Norvell met with reporters on Monday afternoon and shared details of the conversation he had with Jordan Travis on the field on Saturday night.

Travis suffered a season-ending leg injury in the win over North Alabama in Week 12. As he was being tended to by medical personnel, Norvell says Travis asked him to get a message to his mother.

“With all of the emotions, and you felt the support, you felt the care, the concern for him,” Norvell said. “He was remarkable. I mean, his composure on the field, in pain, all things, he’s just kept telling me, ‘Coach, I’m good. I’m good. Tell my mom I’m okay, and I’m good.'”

The injury ends Travis’ collegiate career. He wrote an emotional letter to fans on Monday thanking them for their support over the course of his career with the Noles.

FSU still has a lot to play for in 2023. The Noles are 11-0 and are firmly in the mix for the College Football Playoff. However, FSU will need a win over Florida on the road this week without Travis in order to remain a CFP contender.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
