Florida State commit Roderick Kearney has been linked with Florida in recent days, prompting some analysis from some of the country’s leading recruiting experts.

Kearney was in Gainesville for Florida’s dramatic win over Utah in Week 1. The 4-star recruit is expected to be back at Florida again this weekend as the Gators take on Kentucky.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Kearney’s recruitment is starting to slip away from the Noles.

“I think they’re losing some traction with Kearney,” Simmons said of Florida State. “Florida is picking up some momentum.

“I think him [visiting Florida] likely back-to-back weeks this fall, early in the season, shows a lot about where his interest is in the Gators.”

Here’s Simmons’ full analysis of the situation:

Florida State didn’t play at home in Week 1, is off in Week 2 and will be on the road again (Louisville) in Week 3. That means the next time the Noles could have Kearney up for a game would be Sept. 24 vs. Boston College.

If Kearney does flip, it would be a big loss for Florida State. The Orange Park, Fla, native is the No. 121 overall player and the No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
